** Nevermind this post, just lookin' for  a place to keep some Nuzlocke run notes!

FIRERED NUZLOCKE RUN, STARTED 16/03/13 - ??/??/??

Trainer's name, Hazel! Starter, Hanna the female charmander; bold nature~!

Usual game start, no noteworthy events so far. The first impressions of Hanna are that she is pretty kick-ass and torched through route one without a thought.

First catch, Jason the male pidgey; quirky nature~! Considering he was caught at level three Jason kicked off hard and blew through route one just as easily as Hanna had - really solid team so far!

Hanna level ten - scratch, growl, and ember. Jason level ten - tackle, sand-attack, and gust.

Detoured down route twenty-two to see what I could catch.. damnit, Rattata - KO'd.

Second rival battle! (And some sass about not being ready for the League, a'duh.)
Pidgey versus Hanna - lots of sand-attack, easy knock-out.
Squirtle versus Jason - lots of tail-whip, easy knock-out again.
Both only landed one hit, haha.

Stocked up at the PokeMart, ran past the creepy old man and on to route two and the Viridian Forest!

Encountered on route two.. another freakin' Rattata - another KO, way to go, Hanna doesn't feel like sharing.

Let's take a moment to pray to the Pokemon Gods for an encounter miracle~.. nope, caught Greg the male kakuna; gentle nature. Ugh he doesn't even know tackle!

Grinding. Grinding forever.

And then finally Greg evolved at level ten! And learned fury attack, so let's see what he's made of!

Greg's holding his own so far, just wish he had more moves.. and more PP.

On to Pewter city! Hanna level twelve, Jason level twelve, Greg level eleven - knows fury attack and harden!

Checked out the museum first, and then a bit more grinding before we hit Brock's gym~!

Hanna learned metal claw at level thirteen, time to take down Brock!

Ground everyone up to level fifteen before heading up to Brock's gym. During the last battle with Brock's onyx, Hanna sustained too much damage from rock tomb so I called her back in and sent Greg in while I healed her. I thought I had enough time to restore her to full HP but I forgot that Greg was bound by onyx - he survived two hits of rock tomb.. but the bind smothered the last of his HP. Hanna was sent back in, and evolved after the match. So.. I guess it makes good comic material..

RIP Greg, level five to level fifteen. <3 :c

On to Mt Moon~!
Party of two, death count of one.
Hanna, the female charmeleon; level sixteen - knows scratch, growl, ember, and metal claw. Jason the male pidgey; level fifteen - knows tackle, sand-attack, gust and quick attack.

Stocked up at the Mart, acquired running shoes from the Prof's aid at the start of route three.

* There's a bug catcher on route two that says he saw you in the Viridian forest, plot idea?

Mt Moon was a journey of forever, oh my gosh. First encounter was of course, a pidgey - no new team additions on route four.

Jason evolved at level eighteen en route to Mt Moon.

At the Pokemon Center we encountered the guy that tries to pawn off magikarps on people for $5 - so I figured, why the hell not? Haven't caught a new pokemon in ages, we just lost Greg, and I've never trained a magikarp before.

Welcome Caleb, the male magikarp with a hardy nature who knew only splash.. maybe this'll be harder then I thought..

With Caleb riding piggyback we marched into Mt Moon and the first encounter was.. Niki, the female zubat with a hasty nature who knows leech life and astonish. Seems this'll be a game of firsts.

There was a lot of grinding.

Caleb learned tackle at level fifteen and I started grinding him in; at level twenty he. finally. evolved. Which was funny because I thought we'd fought our last battle as a magikarp and nope. Like two goshdarned exp left to earn so I was like, "Dear Gods wont this be over already?!" And he one-hit KO'd his last level eight spearow like, "EffthisImreadytoevolvednow." -Gyarados, bam-

On to training Niki, she really couldn't hold up her own with astonish and leech life so I let her ride piggyback through the rest of Mt Moon and the last rocket battles (after all the piggybacking I'm done it doesn't even bother me anymore).

On to Cerulean city! After a boo at Misty's trainers I decided to make for the nugget bridge, smacked my rival aside and plowed through the nugget bridge trainers and the crazy rocket supporter at the end. In the adjacent grass patch I found our newest teammate.. Eva, the female caterpie with a bold nature who knows tackle and stringshot. <3

Niki is now level sixteen and with having learned bite I now feel comfortable polishing her trainin' off until she's level with everyone else.

So as I mentioned yesterday, I've been hard at work on my birthday present project for my Da. Its really been a lot like (I keep telling people this, hehe) putting t'gether a puzzle when you know how its supposed to look but you don't have any of the pieces. Getting started was the hardest part, it wasn't until I read in the FAQs of Chloe Giordano's Tumblr account that she used newpaper to made a basic model of her ideas before she gets started with the pattern. I attempt a very crude bird myself, but it only got me half of the way! I would've liked to paper mache the model and try drawing out the pattern on top of it but I was short glue and paper to mache so there I was at another stump.

I figured that honestly the head was going to be the hardest part, I don't know why, but even when I'm drawing the faces are very important to me and if I mess them up then I usually lose the inspiration to finish the piece. So I sat for a long while and thought about how I could possibly get the head started. It came to me that if I could find something round, I could perhaps try and figure out how to cover it. Something round.. something round.. well a ball from the daycare downstairs was probably my best bet! So the plush started with me guesstimating and cutting out pieces of felt to cover this (very slippery, gah) ball. Eventually, and after a series of abrupt epiphanies I (kindof) got the idea about how to do the head but it was all so very rough and I could hardly tell you then if it was going to work out - so I dropped it for awhile.

Coming home from work really tired one day it got into my head that maybe I should try out the pattern I had in mind for the head, to heck if I didn't work out, I had to try!

Well, it panned out better than I thought - and so Ted, the very first attempt was born!

Full of pride I launched into the body which turned out to be a lot harder than I anticipated and in the end I had to do a lot of "sculpting" overall to get roughly the body shape I was looking for, but considering it was my first ever try I was pretty darn proud! And Ted's body gave me a lot of insight into just how I needed to change and modify the pattern to get  better result.

"Hello!" Says Ted! There has since been an second attempt, Even, who's progress was sadly much less document then Ted's but here he is!

Between the both of them I feel really confident that the third is well on its way to being the pattern I'm looking for!

So this lynx has been hard at work with a personal sewing project, a soft-sculpture bird. This coming March 4th is my Da's birthday and being that he is the source of my artsiness I've long wanted to do something specially handmade for him but, painting and drawing, well, they never could do in my heart. (He's a painter, you know.) So! Utilizing my love of needlecraft, I've been holed up in my den every spare moment puzzling out this birdy. I've taken some inspiration and helpful hints from researched patterned and plushes but the pattern is entirely my own and well.. its still rather bumbly but I'm getting there! I'm going to put up a post t'morrow morning with all my sketches and scratches and Ted and Evan (my first two attempts), so anyone interested can see how its coming along!

This really makes me wish I had an honest-to-goodness camera and not a silly phone thing.

I've noticed that when big changes happen, they always seem to happen rather suddenly - you never seem to get much forewarning on them.

On the other paw, t'day was lovely and lazy for the most part though I did see to the pest problem on my houseplants, and having been unable to sleep in I got up early and saw to the downstairs and while doing so decided it was a morning for blueberry muffins and made some of those for the fam. I know my sis and her hubby have been pretty overwhelmed lately, new baby and all, and I wholeheartedly believe the cause of every relationship hiccup is a messy house - however metaphorically you want to see it!

I took a lovely little walk before sunset and up until after. It was bitingly cold out and I neglected to bring my hat along so it wasn't a long walk but I walked down to the edge of the woods and thought about t'day's teaching with Ainslee. I'm starting to believe I meditate better in motion (which only makes me want to explore tai chi again..) and I have my best thoughts then to boot~ The bare branches of the trees looked stunning against the fading sunset, my favorite time of day, and the moon was rising t'ward full. Just a wonderful, peaceable moment. You don't get moments like that in the summer when there's no snow to suck up the sound.

Well now, it feels a little funny to be writing this because I've never been much of a blogger but out of a desire to reach out to other members of certain communities here I am being just that. There's really not an awful lot I can think to say about me personally except the statistical basics. I'm a cisgender female who lives in central Canada, I'll be twenty-one soon and I'm in-between college and everything that comes afterward.

I've a keen interest in earth-centered spirituality, and I'm presently studying a year-and-day's worth of Wicca following a lovely book with the same title written by a fellow named Timothy Roderick. I've identified as a european lynx therian for a number of years now (well, the therian bit, the lynx bit is relatively new) and I have a projected companion by the name of Ainslee who takes the form of a crow.

I'm really here mainly to communicate with certain friends so my blog might end up getting largely dusty, however, if you'd like to talk to me do feel free to leave me a message of some kind!

Lovely to be here, and merry met;
